Children’s Easter Holiday Sculpture Workshops @ Eramboo!
Eramboo Artist-in-Residence UK sculptor Philip Garrett will be running Easter Holidays Children’s Workshops April 15th, 16th and 18th! Classes will be held at Eramboo Artist Environment from 9:30-1pm with a short lunch break in the middle. Parents are welcome to attend with their children. These workshops include all materials and light refreshments.
Children aged 6 and up will receive an introduction into Classical Sculpture during these workshops! While learning the traditional techniques, students can try their hand at discovering the methods of Old Masters to produce a small piece of sculpture in each of these sessions.
Workshops include using professional techniques of sculpture that have existed for thousands of years involving use of human proportions, characteristics and anatomy.
April 15th – Making a Medal’ – A portrait in relief that can hang on the wall up to seven inches in diameter.
April 16th – ‘Modelling a Bust’ – Modelling a miniature bust approximately 6 inches high- includes some anatomy and details of the facial features.
April 18th – ‘Intro to Modelling the Human Figure’ – Using basic proportions and anatomy, students construct a basic figure and arrange it into a seated or reclining pose.
