Nettie Lodge present an 8 week course in Illustrating A Narrative, which may include artist books, text artwork, illustrating graphic novels, poems, children’s books, fiction, travel diary, book covers and more! It’s aimed at participants who may be interested in illustrating a narrative for the purpose of publication, or, to create an artist book , or to develop the necessary tools to create and illustrate an individual narrative text as a series of art works. The course is tailored to the specific style and needs of each participant.
The hands on course is focused on developing……
- Perceptual, imaginative and technical skills to create a personal narrative project.
- An understanding of how to dissect a narrative for illustration.
- General technical and creative drawing skills for the purpose of illustration, including media such as watercolour, acrylic, collage, photomontage, pen and ink, mono printing and pencils. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with all the demonstrated techniques.
- Developing illustration for individual projects with one on one feedback for each participant.
