Jessica B Watson
Winner of the 2016 Northern Beaches Artist in Residency Award
Jessica's artwork, Sea Oh too, reflects on this problem and how we as individuals, communities, councils, states, countries, continents and planet are addressing the problem (or not)""global warming radically changes our planet we are facing an over production of CO2, a gas found naturally on our planet, and a vital part of the eco system as a whole. Our problem is now the over production of the gas, oceans are absorbing more co2 than they can tolerate and they are slowly acidifying.
"My vision is to create artworks that share with an audience, my own fascination with the intangible experiences that shape our existence. I want to reveal the complexity of a single moment, where the layers of experience fuse to create meaning and richness in our lives. Time, the dynamic interaction of light + form, space, the nature of perception and the unity of opposites have been the primary and ongoing concerns throughout my artistic practice. They are the fundamental building blocks of our understanding of life, inextricably linked in a seamless dance - the very essence of what ‘to be’ is."

Watercolourist and Poet
The love of watercolour is in my creative DNA. I view nature through a watercolour filter, inspired by nature’s soft edges, transparencies and subtle blends of colour.
My desire is to find the delicate balance between freedom and control. The freedom to push the boundaries while maintaining control of my vision for each work. The challenge is to let the paper, paint, water and brush flow together producing works that are alive and fresh.......each one unique.
Poetry for me is the perfect companion to watercolour.
